Port-au-Prince, January 16, 2010

Dear Friends:

         Haiti is going through an unprecedented disaster following the killer earthquake of a 7.3 magnitude on the Richter scale that ravaged the country.

     An estimated 100 to 200 000 people have died; thousands of people have been injured, while millions of people are left homeless.

     The headquarters of FONJAFE have collapsed and our vehicle has been stolen at gunpoint from its driver.

     Under the circumstances, FONJAFE finds themselves by the calls for assistance and is therefore asking for emergency relief. (See annex).

     Aware of your unfailling support to the victims of such disasters, we are counting upon your solidarity and financial assistance -never mind the amount -for the victims of this disaster,  in order to alleviate the sufferings of those who find themselves in dire necessity.
